Gone Too Soon

I lost a friend on Friday. Well, Thursday night actually I think. I received a call Friday morning informing me of the tragic loss. Most of us couldn't believe it, we thought it was some kind of sick joke they were playing on us. Now how do I put this.
You were a wonderful friend. Always joking around, always ready with that smug, cheeky grin of yours. You towered over me and I had to crane my neck just to look at you. We made fun of you so many times and not once did you get angry over it, in fact, you joined in and made fun of yourself, which always resulted in the rest of us bursting out in laughter. You were immature yet mature at the same time. You could give sound advice to anyone in trouble or who needed a listening ear yet you could prance around like a monkey and act like an idiot. (Sorry ^^') You were like a brother to me and one of the funniest, warmest and most down-to-earth people I've ever met and I liked bullying you because you never got angry and you know I don't mean anything I say when I tease you.
I still find it hard to believe you're gone, and though I may be in denial now, someday I'll get over it.
And one day (hopefully soon) I'll stop bawling like a sappy baby over your absence (coz I know you probably wouldn't want anyone crying over you) and rejoice in the fact that you lived and I (and so many others) got to know you.
I'll miss you, you and your grin and your sense of humour. You were my friend and always will be and maybe one day we'll all meet up again to hang out and laugh at stupid things (that sometimes don't make sense) again. Rest in peace.
